The webinar reviewed a set of mature operational solutions for enhancing runway performance and making best use of available infrastructure. It covered how to optimise separation minima on final approach and take-off, some as quick wins as well as available ATC system automation and functionalities to support the Air Traffic Controllers in the delivery and conformance to separation minima, and related benefits. Some of these solutions have been developed under SESAR, are already deployed at some European airports, or on the way to be. It also highlighted the evolved regulatory framework, the available guidance material and support from EUROCONTROL for the local calibration and application.
